Welcome to my website! Here's a little about me!

I graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors degree in Behavior Analysis in May 1999.  I then traveled to Kaohsiung, Taiwan to help implement the use of Applied Behavior Analysis to teach the English language, as well as reading to Chinese-speaking preschoolers in a Montessori program.  During my college career I worked in preschools for typically developing children, taught in many home ABA programs for children with autism (beginning in 1996), and taught and trained other teachers in an elementary classroom (designed utilizing principles of applied behavior analysis) for typically developing children ages 5-12.

Following my time in Taiwan, I attended and completed (4.0 GPA) a Master's program in Human Development (Applied Behavior Analysis) (Now this program is called the Department of Applied Behavioral Sciences) at the University of Kansas (2001).

Upon completion of my Master's program I taught oral language in an auditory-oral program for children with moderate to severe hearing impairments.  Children in my care there had multiple diagnoses, such as autism, or severe language difficulties, in addition to their deafness.

I joined a large consulting firm as a Senior Consulting Behavior Analyst in the fall of 2002.  I became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in December 2002.  In May of 2003, in addition to my consulting role, I began mentoring other consultants there and took the position of Program Coordinator.  This position allowed me to lay the foundation for and begin a preschool and school for children with autism and challenging behaviors.

I left that position in November 2003 and my husband and I adopted a baby in December of 2003!  I am now privately consulting with families primarily in the Greater Kansas City area.  I specialize in teaching children ages 12 mos. to 12 yrs.   I have a strong passion for using applied behavior analysis in the field of education, especially in communication/verbal behavior, play, and social skills.

I love applied behavior analysis! I love working with families, caretakers, and school staff to bring about lasting change and improvement in the lives of children!
